The new 1000 HP of Yanmar, the 6RY17P-GV introduced in Europe on the Sinaval Exhibition 2003. This marine propulsion engine has been developed to fill up the gap between high speed engines and medium speed engines in this power range and to meet the demands of many ship owners.
The high power of the engine is the result of an increase of fuel injection and an increase of suction air volume. The combination of a very strong cylinder block, large crankshaft diameter, highly wear resistant ductile cast iron piston and piston rings (Cr. Coated) secures high durability.
